What is ZIP?

The ZIP file format is a popular data compression and archival format. A ZIP file contains one or more files that have been compressed, to reduce their file size, or stored as-is.

ZIP files generally use the file extensions ".zip" or ".ZIP" and the MIME media type application/zip. Some software uses the ZIP file format as a wrapper for a large number of small items in a specific structure. Generally when this is done a different file extension is used.

What can you do with ZIP files by using WinMount?

Generally, if you want to use files inside a ZIP file, you should extract it first. In most cases, it takes you a long time to extract a large ZIP file, especially when it comes to extract a ZIP archive with thousands of files inside and you need extra disk space to hold them. Now, with WinMount, everything will be changed!

WinMount can mount ZIP files to a new virtual drive and quick mount ZIP as a virtual folder, so that you can use files inside it directly. There is no extraction time before you use them, and you don't need disk space to hold these huge files. WinMount saves your time and disk space!

WinMount also can compress ZIP, decompress ZIP and convert ZIP to MOU.
